Are there different types of ice cream? |
There are two main classes of ice cream, traditional ice cream and sorbets. Traditional ice cream is made with dairy products including milk and cream. However in recent times water-based sorbets have proven to be a popular choice. Both types offer a pleasurable and palatable experience. Flavour vaieties contribute to different caloirie counts; for example, cocoa used to make chocolate flavoured ice cream attributes a higher calorie weight than vanilla flavoured ice cream.
In contrast, sorbet varieties (which are water based products) are formulated with fruit extracts which results in a fat free product. |
